Brentford’s midfield duo of Ryan Woods and Sam Saunders both “can’t wait” for Saturday’s west London derby against Fulham.

Saunders was on the bench in Brentford's 2-1 win against the Whites at Griffin Park last season, while this will be Woods' first experience of a derby against the Bees' rivals from Craven Cottage.

But both players are looking forward to the game and Saunders believes that he and his team mates are going into the game brimming with confidence.

He said: “We’re looking forward to the game down at Fulham – we’re going there with some confidence.

“We’re confident that if we play our brand of football, play as well as we can and press high and fast, be organised and work for each other then I don’t see why we can’t get a result.

“It’s going to be a tough game – we know that.

“We respect Fulham, we respect what they’re doing but we also know that when we’re on our game we can give anyone a good game so we’re looking forward and can’t wait.

“We’ve sold out our allocation so it’s going to be unbelievable in that aspect”

Meanwhile, Woods is expecting a tense game but insists that he can’t wait to experience the atmosphere.

He added: “I’m really looking forward to the game.

“I can’t wait to hear the atmosphere – I read that we sold over 5000 tickets and I think that’s great support from the fans and I’m looking forward to the occasion.

“Derbies always seem to be quite tense but hopefully we can get that goal and take the three points back home with us.”
