Brentford playmaker Alan Judge is nearing a landmark in his recovery from the broken leg he suffered in April.

The Irishman has been out of action since a horrific Luke Hyam tackle at Ipswich and has been making steady progress since the break.

And his bone is around two weeks away from the bone fully calcifying, which will allow him to take the next step in his recovery.

Head coach Dean Smith said: “Alan Judge is into a stage in his rehab where he wants to keep stepping up now.

“There's a week or two left for the full calcification of the bone. We have to make sure he's right before he comes back.”

Rico Henry has been making progress after undergoing an operation on a troublesome shoulder injury.

Smith revealed: “He's still in a sling. He's doing more work when he takes it off to build up the muscles. He's working very hard and we hope to have him back before the New Year.”

Callum Elder is also on the mend after his injury at Brighton and has had an injection to help the healing process.

Smith explained: “He's still in the brace and has had an injection into the area to speed the healing process. Hopefully that can quicken the healing process and he won't be too far away.”
