Brentford's Dan Bentley says that the team haven't had their share of good fortune in the opening two months of the season.

Despite some impressive displays, the Bees have picked up just nine points from 11 games so far, leaving them in 19th place in the league; a position which perhaps isn't a fair reflection on the season so far.

But Bentley says things aren't far from clicking into place.

The stopper: Dan Bentley in action against Southampton

Speaking to the club's website, the stopper said: "I feel a bit indifferent regarding the season so far.

"The performances have, on the whole, been excellent, but results-wise it hasn’t been excellent. It’s been very up and down; it took us a while to get that first win and there’s been games that we should have won and didn’t.

"We’ve not got the return that we wanted or perhaps deserved – that’s something that we’ve addressed as a team and as long as we keep doing the right things we’ll start getting wins.

“It’s a cliché but everything evens itself out over the course of the season. I think we’ve had a lot of our bad luck early on – we’ve not quite had the rub of the green at times.

"We’ve certainly got a group that can compete at this level, we’ve shown that. I’m sure that the fans are frustrated that we’ve not picked up the points but they can certainly see when we’re performing well – there’s no two ways about it, we’ve performed well”.
