Brentford's supporters were so loud against Fulham that it meant Dan Bentley hurt his throat trying to communicate with his team-mates.

The Bees fans were in fine voice in the Putney End as they prevented the Whites from mathematically securing a play-off spot although it would take a heavy swing in goal difference for Slavisa Jokanovic's side to miss out now.

And Bentley was full of praise for the fans who made the short trip from SW8 to SW6 on Saturday.

He said: "The Brentford fans were magnificent to the point that my throat is as bad as it's been.

"It's great for them to come out and see us put in a good performance and a good shift. That was plain to see.

"Fulham are a good side at the same time. Credit to them for coming out in such numbers and I'm sorry it wasn't three points."
