David Button hopes the Brentford fans knew how much last night's win over QPR meant to the squad.

The Bees triumphed thanks to Marco Djuricin's strike from Alan Judge's cross and Rangers were left to rue hitting the woodwork twice.

Brentford embarked on a lap of honour after the win and Button and the squad were buzzing.

He said: “It was a great night. It won't go down as one of the prettiest games we'll ever watch and the lads are buzzing.

“I could hear the fans throughout the game. We could tell how much it meant for everybody and hopefully they saw how much it meant to us.”

Button paid tribute to Lee Carsley and believes he is manager of the month worthy after four wins from five in October.

While the head coach doesn't want the role beyond the end of the season, the goalkeeper hopes that Carsley changes his mind.

He added: “Four on the bounce now speaks volumes about what he's done since he's come in. He deserves the credit and hopefully he'll be recognised with that reward.

“There is hope. We're love him to stay. That decision is out of our hands and he's got to do what makes him happy. If he changes his mind the lads will be delighted but we'll respect his decision.”
