Brentford fans' bid to reprint the club's 125 year anniversary book have received a huge boost after one generous fan pledged £5,000 to the Kickstarter campaign.

The club printed the book last year but sold out in just over 10 days leaving many, who wanted it, without a copy.

The fans have pledged to raise the £16,000 needed to reprint the book, which will be updated to include the Bees' historic season in the Championship where they defied conventional wisdom to reach the play-offs, where they lost to Middlesbrough.

The bid, which ends at 11.59pm on Tuesday September 29, looked destined to fall short of the target prior to the £5,000 pledge but still needs just under £4,500 to reach their goal.

The book contains a treasure trove of previously unseen and long forgotten photographs, wonderful cuttings, fascinating information and rare memorabilia – some of which dates back to the club’s earliest existence.

No money will be taken, unless the target is reached. To pledge money, visit their Kickstarter page.
