Dean Smith will not be changing Brentford's training schedules over the international break, despite the Bees' poor start, results wise, to the season.

The head coach will give the squad the international weekend off to spend with their families after an intense period of training at the start of next week.

The west Londoners will also play a behind closed doors game next Thursday in order to give minutes to players in need of some.

Smith said: “The training plan has been done for three or four weeks and we've had a plan for what we'll do.

“We've got a behind closed doors game lined up for next Thursday and the lads will have the weekend off.”

When asked if that depended on the performance against Wolves, Smith added: “Not at all. We've played seven games in 22 and, from the moment we play Aston Villa, we have another seven in 22.

“The staff need a breather as well. The lads are in a good place. We've performed well but not got the results that have been merited.”
