The new Championship season is kicking off and hopes are high for many clubs up and down the land.

Brentford, QPR and Fulham are all starting with a clean slate and fresh hope ahead of another long campaign in the second tier.

With new branding, new managers and new players, this looks set to be one of the most competitive seasons ever.

Two Champions League winners are managing teams in the Championship this year, with Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez leading relegated Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Jaap Stam, who won Europe’s top club competition as a Manchester United player, is also in the dugout this term having taking over at Reading.

Huge fees are being spent as clubs chase the Premier League dream with Ross McCormack joining Villa in a £12million switch and Benitez shelling out £40million on fresh talent.

Those two clubs are among the bookies’ favourites to claim the title in 2016/17 but who do you fancy for the crown?
