Brentford FC made it a fab festive season for their fans with two wins out of two to cement second spot in League Two.

The Bees followed Boxing Day's 2-0 win over Bournemouth, courtesy of a Marcus Bean brace, by winning by the same scoreline at Exeter on Sunday.

Charlie MacDonald gave Brentford the lead from the penalty spot 15 minutes from time with his 11th goal of the season.

The Bees striker picked himself up to net the spot-kick after appearing to be fouled by Rob Edwards.

Sam Wood doubled Brentford's lead four minutes later when he finished from close range with his first goal for the club.

But Andy Scott's men, who are five points behind leaders Wycombe with a game in hand, may have to sit kicking their heels for two weeks before another game.

Saturday's game with Chesterfield will be called off if the Spirites are reinstated in the FA Cup.

The FA will decide later today if their conquerors, Droylesden, are guilty of fielding an ineligible player in their second round replay win.
