Alan Judge has taken another step towards his recovery after a broken leg suffered against Ipswich in April 2016.

The Irishman suffered a compound fracture after a horror challenge from Tractor Boys midfielder Luke Hyam.

The midfielder, who won the club's player of the season award that year, has been in Philadelphia looking to build up his strength.

And he paid tribute to Bill Knowles, Director of Reconditioning and Athletic Development at HPSports on Twitter.

He wrote: “Great 2weeks in Philadelphia getting myself ready to push on thanks to @Billknowles_HPS @greigy75 tough camp but it is goin to be worth it.”

Now, though, Judge can spend time with his loving family as he tries to return to first team action with Brentford keeping quiet about a potential return date.

He added on Instagram: “Been a long 2 weeks away from the family but it will be worth it in the end I'll make sure of that. Can't wait to get home to see my beautiful family so they can drive me crazy again.”
