Sergi Canos is looking up after Brentford reached the 50 points marker with a 5-3 win against Burton, after coming from 3-1 down at the break.

The Spaniard scored twice as the Bees came from two goals down to win a league game for the first time since 1991. They achieved the feat against Cardiff in a pre-season friendly in 2013.

And Canos is determined to help the west Londoners trump last season's points tally of 65.

He said: “We managed to get the win and that's all that counts. We don't want to just secure our place. That's secure from the first game of the season.

“We want to push for some places higher in the league and I hope we can do it. We're aiming for more points than last year. Each game counts and we can do great things.”

Brentford fans would love to finish ahead of west London rivals QPR and Fulham and, although the Whites look too far away, the popular 20-year-old won't give up.

Canos added: “I know for the fans the QPR and Fulham games are really important but our next game is against Bristol City at home and, after some days off, we will challenge that.”
