Brentford fans have raised money for a flag to show support to Peter Gilham with further cash raised going towards fighting prostate cancer.

In just over 24 hours, Bees supporters have raised £800 which has already covered the cost of the flag, which will be displayed prior to the first home game, against Nottingham Forest.

It will be then presented to the club to be hung at the ground.

The flag showing support to Peter Gilham

Since the diagnosis was confirmed, Bees players and managers past and present have shown their support for Peter and he penned a message of thanks on the club's official website.

Peter is regarded by Bees fans as a master with the microphone in hand and a key part of the matchday experience, whether it's the enthusiastic 'Come on Brentford' before each half or announcing that every Brentford goal is sponsored by Siracusa, an Italian restaurant in Brentford lock.
