Brentford are coy over reported interested from Chinese investors who took over French side Nice last summer.

According to The Sun, members of the International Investor Group, including chairman Chien Lee, have been at Griffin Park to watch the Bees as they mull over possible investment in the side.

The group took over Nice last summer and successful recruitment, which saw Mario Balotelli saved from Liverpool, has seen them continue to challenge at the top of Ligue 1, a division they currently sit third in - four points off Monaco who are top.

It remains to be seen whether the International Investor Group are interested in a full takeover of Brentford or if they are more interested in investing alongside Matthew Benham, who has put £89,859,593 into the club so far .

A number of clubs in England are already under Chinese control, with West Brom, Wolves and Aston Villa all being owned by Chinese investors, while Reading are also holding talks over a possible Chinese takeover.

Brentford have been contacted but have declined to comment.
