Mark Warburton insisted Lewis Macleod is 'very close' to making his Brentford debut but will only risk the Scottish international when fully fit.

The former Rangers man moved to Griffin Park while recovering with a hamstring injury before a freak injury setback delayed his debut.

But Warburton was unsure as to who would drop out of the side for the 20-year-old to make his debut.

Injured: Lewis MacLeod

The Bees boss said: “He came down with a hamstring and was on the road to recovery. He had a a freak setback which put him two weeks behind.

“He's a young 20-year-old who has a fantastic career ahead of him and we want to get him right. Hopefully as his leg gets stronger. He's very close now.

“We'll see him when his fit. Who do I drop out of the 18? It's always about the players who aren't playing the focus will be on the players who are.”
