Dean Smith has sympathy for out-of-form Brentford forward Lasse Vibe and believes he just needs to have a stroke of fortune to turn his game around.
Nothing the Dane has tried in recent games has come off for him, not that it was for the lack of trying, and he was withdrawn early against Cardiff.
Vibe will be the first to admit he goes through spells where everything he touches turns to goals but also phases where nothing comes off for him.
And the Brentford head coach believes all he needs is a goal, even if it comes off his backside like it did against Sheffield Wednesday in August, to lift his mood.
Smith said: “He's trying as hard as ever. I don't think opportunities are happening for him.
“He probably needs a goal like Sheffield Wednesday where he scores off his backside as he went on a run from there of really good performances.
“It was unfortunate he got injured against Wigan and missed a spell as it seemed to be a catalyst at that time.
“He was helping Scott such as against Reading and Preston. He puts a shift in but it's not been happening for him.”
