Dean Smith believes that Brentford's display against Derby on Good Friday just pipped their displays at home to Reading and away at QPR.

The Bees, by and large, dominated the Rams for the whole game and Lasse Vibe and Jota both scored braces to seal a convincing win.

It wasn't the biggest win of the season, with the 5-0 triumph over Preston taking that gong but Smith felt that showing against Gary Rowett's side was at the top.

Smith said: “There's been a few candidates for that. I thought Reading at home, we were very good. Derby at home. QPR away. There have been some really good performances this season.”

When pushed for the number one performance, Smith replied: “Derby, because of the quality they have.”

There was less debate about Brentford's worst game of the season; the 5-0 tonking at Norwich.

Smith added: “Norwich was the worst game, without a shadow of a doubt.”
