Brentford head coach Dean Smith is happy to face anyone on the opening day of the Championship season.

The Bees are likely to be away from home as, in recent years, their Griffin Park fixtures have been on the same weekend as Chelsea's and the Premier League champions are at home on August 12.

With the fixtures released at 9am on Wednesday morning, fans are looking forward to working out their diaries for the upcoming 12 months. GetWestLondon having all the key information then on our live blog so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Smith will be pleased to know the same from a scouting perspective but he doesn't mind who the Bees will open their league campaign against.

He said: “I'm not fussed to be honest. It's such a good league to play in. We're just looking forward to getting the fixtures and then you can start planning, especially scouting those teams.”

Brentford were away last season at Huddersfield and had home fixtures with Ipswich and Charlton in the 2015/16 and 2014/15 seasons respectively.
