Brentford are not going into administration, despite rumours doing the rounds on social media and in the gambling world after the odds on the club to be relegated dropped by an alarming rate.

The Bees saw their odds for relegation slashed from 200/1 to 7/1 ahead of Tuesday night's 3-1 win over Bolton, despite beating Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Reports had claimed that this was because the Bees were likely to go into administration but sources have confirmed that these are untrue.

Brentford all but secured survival in the Championship with their 3-1 win over League One bound Bolton Wanderers.

The result moves them 12 points clear of MK Dons and the Buckinghamshire side can only pick up a possible 18 more.

Barring a remarkable upturn in fortunes for Karl Robinson's side and a staggering collapse from the Bees, a third season in the Championship is on the cards.
