Brentford completed a league double over Queens Park Rangers for the first time since 1965 after winning by three goals to one at Griffin Park.

The Bees were the better side over the course of the 90 minutes and took a first half lead through Yoann Barbet who turned Jota's corner home via the crossbar.

There was controversy in the second half as Conor Washington's header appeared to have crossed the line with the Frenchman trying to clear but the goal wasn't given.

Almost immediately after, Joel Lynch then brought down Maxime Colin in the penalty area and Jota tucked the spot kick away with aplomb.

Lynch made up for his error two minutes later when he headed home a free kick at the near post.

Jota, though, wasn't to be denied another derby day goal as he scored a brilliant third.

The result lifts Brentford up to ninth and leaves QPR looking over their shoulder nervously at the relegation zone.
