Brentford drew 0-0 against Barnsley at Griffin Park this afternoon in a game they should have won.

The Bees dominated the first half, creating a number of chances, but couldn't find the breakthrough. They came out in the second half with the same attitude, putting Barnsley on the back foot.

But they took their own foot off the pedal and allowed the visitors to have a good spell around the 70-minute mark, before boss Dean Smith made a few changes.

Brentford restored their dominance and did all they could but couldn't find the breakthrough and had to settle for a point. Now they get set for games against Norwich City, Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolves.

Digital Football Writer for Trinity Mirror South East, Mark Ritson , was covering the game for Get West London this afternoon and has given his player ratings at full-time.

Have a look below!

Dan Bentley - The stopper did all the basics right and rushed out a couple of times to smother well. Had to make a good save to his left from a free-kick in wet conditions. Clean sheet. 7

John Egan - Very easy first half, not troubled. Had a bit more work to do in the second half as Barnsley came back into it. Clean sheet. 7

Andreas Bjelland - Same as Egan, in control and in no trouble. Had to be aware a lot more in the second period. Clean sheet. 7

Yoann Barbet - Stunning ball in for Maupay after 22 minutes after a storming run forward to latch on to a pass. Had a long range shot go wide shortly before the break. Did OK in the second period. Clean sheet. 7

Josh Clarke - Fairly comfortable like the rest of the defence for the full-back. He was forced off with injury unfortunately in the second half. 6

Josh McEachran - Always looked for a pass but sat deep instead of pushing forward. A quiet game and was replaced by Macleod. 5

Romaine Sawyers - Lovely pass to create big chance for Maupay early on. Had a header go wide of the far post. A clever player. 6

Ryan Woods - Battled away but not too much creativity in the first half. Faded in the second. 5

Sergi Canos - Extremely lively in the opening stages and looked good. Brentford's best player in the first half. He faded in the second period and was taken off for Jozefzoon. 6

Ollie Watkins - In and out of the game, needed to step up a little more at times. And he did late on with some surging runs and nearly won it with a low shot which was well saved in added-on time. 7

Neal Maupay - Massive chance early on to give his side the lead but he shot straight at the goalkeeper. Looked nippy but needed something to fall his way on his own up top. He tried, but some fans may have been frustrated with him, it could be said. 6

Lewis Macleod - Came on for McEachran with 15 minutes to go. Not much to say. 3

Florian Jozefzoon - He replaced Canos. Looked for the ball and got some crosses in. 6

Nico Yennaris - The midfielder came on for the injured Clarke and took his place at right-back. Stopped a big chance with a clearance at the back post from a deep cross. He did well.
