Fulham will have to keep a lid on arguably the Championship's most in-form player if they are to get anything out of their trip to Bournemouth later today.

The Cottagers head to the south coast hoping to get their busy festive programme off to a sparkling start.

But according to Andy Mitchell from the Bournemouth Echo they will need to stop Matt Ritchie from conjuring up something from his box of tricks if they are to do so.

The right midfielder, who has Premier League experience with Portsmouth, already has 10 assists and six goals to his name in the league so far this campaign.

Mitchell said: "He was at the hub of two goals without adding to his assists on Saturday as well as netting twice in the 6-1 win at Blackpool.

"He roams into pockets of space and delivers a wide range of defence-splitting passes.

"Ritchie has scored or assisted the same number of league goals as Sheffield Wednesday have managed this season.

"He looks ready for the jump back up to the Premier League, hopefully with the Cherries."

Striker Callum Wilson has been a revelation for Bournemouth since moving to the Goldsands Stadium in the summer from hometown club Coventry City.

Emerging talent: Callum Wilson

The 22-year-old was also on the scoresheet at the weekend and enjoyed a bumper October when he bagged six goals in five games.

Mitchell said: "Some saw replacing Norwich-bound Lewis Grabban with an emerging talent from League One as a bit of a gamble but it has paid off handsomely.

"His goal at Blackpool on Saturday saw him hit 13 for the season – Wilson’s lucky number – with his burgeoning reputation leading to an England U21 call-up in November."

Mitchell's final choice is full-back Simon Francis, Ritchie’s partner-in-crime on the right flank.

The 29-year-old attracted interest from elsewhere in the transfer window and is enjoying a fine season with the Cherries.

Mitchell added: "He has been Mr Consistent since boss Eddie Howe returned to the club and played every minute of every game last season prior to Adam Smith being given an opportunity on the last day at Millwall.

"Francis got nine assists last season an has five and one goal already in this campaign.

"It's little wonder that Derby County were chasing his signature in the summer."
