David Howell has backed his squad's rejuvenated sense of unity to help shoot them up the table and out of danger.

The Borough boss held individual talks with players last month in a bid to clear the air and arrest his team's slide into the Ryman Premier drop zone.

This month, he and his players have been working hard on eradicating individual errors and Howell feels the weekend's demolition of Hendon was the culmination of their efforts.

"I thought we played well," said the manager. "We've been looking at a few things and have worked them out together. We've come a long way to get ourselves more compact as a unit and the lads now understand each other's strengths and weaknesses.

"We've had a lot of doom and gloom for the best part of the season but there is a good feeling at the club and in the dressing room now, and that is what gets you positive results."

Harrow travel to face playoff-chasing Dartford this Saturday before they host Ashford Town (Middx) in the League Cup semi finals next Tuesday and Howell is confident his side can build on their steady rise up the table.

"Dartford will be a good test for us," he added. "We beat them at home and they will have a decent crowd behind them.

"The quicker we get into the 40s [points] the quicker we can catch the sides in the top 10, which has been our ultimate aim all along.

"We have to go to Dartford and show we are not flashes in the pan after the Hendon result. That was the case after we beat Staines, only to lose at home to AFC Hornchurch. We've got to be professional and disciplined."

Howell will be without Danny McGonigle - the midfielder suffered a badly bruised ankle last weekend. His replacement, Kwasi Frempong, should have done enough to warrant a start alongside a reborn James Fraser and one other, who Howell has yet to decide. On-loan Dorian Smith is serving a one-match suspension, while Kai Williams and

Jonathan Constant should feature at Princes Park.

* Harrow Borough's Ryman Premier League match at Maidstone United was postponed last Wednesday due to a waterlogged pitch. A new date has yet to be fixed.

Meanwhile, Borough will face Ashford Town (Middx) in the League Cup semi-finals. Town won through to the last four with a 3-2 triumph at Carshalton Athletic.

The match is scheduled to take place next week and Harrow, should they win, will face either Tilbury or Billericay

Town in the final on Wednesday, April 8. Elsewhere, former Borough sensation Robin Shroot has been farmed out on a month's loan to League One side Walsall by Championship high flyers Birmingham City.
