Chelsea face an anxious wait to hear if defender Gary Cahill will be fit for their FA Cup date with Manchester City this weekend.

The centre-half picked up a knee injury late in Chelsea's 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night.

During his absence from the pitch, and with David Luiz deputising, West Brom grabbed their hard-earned 88th minute equaliser.

Cahill, who hobbled away from The Hawthorns, said: “Once I got the knock, I was struggling from then on.

“He didn’t mean to, but when he went for the header I was on the floor and he landed just inside my knee/calf. It is sore now but we’ll see what it’s like.”

Chelsea were also without John Terry on Tuesday night.
