Dean Smith insists that Brentford's trip to Birmingham is just another game for the club and not a grudge match.
The Blues signed three Bees players in the final hours of the transfer window as Harlee Dean, Jota and Maxime Colin made the move up the M40.
For Brentford fans, the contest is seen as a chance to put one over Steve Cotterill's side and claim bragging rights over their former heroes.
But Smith, on the other hand, sees it as the chance to pick up three points.
He said: “It's just another game. We have to go and get three points and back up this performance.
“We're seven games unbeaten but we want that to continue and rest on our laurels. Every game is tough. We know a bit about their players and coaching staff.”
Harlee Dean stirred Brentford fans with a comment that suggested that Birmingham's current squad was 10 times better than the Bees side that finished fifth in 2015 and Smith batted the comments away, although he later clarified those comments in an exclusive interview with GetWestLondon.
He added: “I wasn't here then. A number of these players weren't here then. All we'll concentrate on is ourselves.
“We'll look at Birmingham against Aston Villa and look forward to that game. It's another opportunity to go and get three points. Steve Cotterill had them up for it and they'll work hard.”
