Ryan Woods believes that this Brentford squad will only get better and better as the season wears on.

The Bees had the youngest starting XI in the Championship on the opening day and the average age is around 23.

And the 22-year-old midfielder, who has won plenty of plaudits in recent weeks, believes several members of the squad can play in the Premier League.

Woods explained: “You can see by the quality of the players we have and how well we're doing at the moment and we're still very young.

“The average age is 23 – it's brilliant to see. I'm positive we'll only get better and we'll some players in the Premier League one day.

“The ambition is to see how well we can do. The main aim is to be in the Premier League and taking these last three games; we've had a really good week. We need to rest up for Wolves and build on the three points.”

Wolves will be going into Saturday's game on a high after a surprising win at title-favourites Newcastle, who had won 6-0 at QPR ahead of that contest, and Woods knows it will be a difficult test for the Bees.

He explained: “Wolves are a good side. They've spent an awful lot of money. That'll be a difficult task for us but we need to take the form from the last three games into Saturday.”
