RAFA Benitez has told John Terry he's not guaranteed a starting spot against Liverpool at the weekend despite his two-goal blast in the derby win at Fulham.
The Chelsea captain headed a brace on his return to the starting line-up as the Blues cruised to a 3-0 victory at Craven Cottage.
However, interim boss Benitez says Terry could be back on the bench at Anfield on Sunday.
When asked if the centre-back was finding his squad rotation difficult, the Spaniard said: “Yeah, but I think the most important thing is the team.
“I'm really pleased with his performance but the team has to be winning.
“He has to be happy, scoring goals. Everyone is. It's good for him and the team. I'm really pleased it was a good performance.
“I prefer these problems [whether to leave him out].
“The players have to be ready. We have eight or nine games to play, and everyone has to be on his toes and ready to perform.
“Every player wants to play every game, but they have to realise they can't do that and 100 be per cent in each game.”
Chelsea leapfrogged Arsenal to move back into the top three.
But Benitez believes the race for the Champions League places will go to the wire.
He added: “I said a long time ago that the race for the top four would go until the end of the season.
“I don't think anyone is out. Things can change with one game. We have to keep winning our games and keep going.”
