Brentford hope to wrap up a new contract for star striker Clayton Donaldson within the next week.
The Bees have tabled an improved offer to the 30-year-old, whose current deal is due to expire at the end of June.
Talks between sporting director Frank McParland and Donaldson's advisers are at an advanced stage.
And the Championship new-boys are hopeful the former Crewe frontman, who is due to return to the UK today from the club's end-of-season promotion party in Las Vegas, will put pen to paper in the next seven days.
Donaldson has smashed 53 goals in 155 games since his switch from Gresty Road in 2011.
The ex-Hull City trainee attracted the interest of Wolves and Millwall last summer, while the Bees also rejected a £250k bid from Turkish side Trabzonspor in 2013.
