Aaron Pierre is keen to open talks with Brentford over a new contract and believes Mark Warburton’s ability to bring through youngsters will help him carve out a big career in the game.

The centre-half was one of six Bees development squad handed deals last June, however Pierre finds himself out of contract in the summer and is looking to get his long-term future sorted out.

Brentford Academy director Ose Aibangee sent his young prospect out to League Two Wycombe Wanderers in February but Pierre has been unable to break into the Blues first XI.

Despite a lack of action in Buckinghamshire, Pierre is keen on extending his spell with the Chairboys beyond March as he looks to make an impression on Bees boss Warburton.

And he is confident his manager’s grounding in the game, having founded the NextGen European youth series, can only further improve him as a player.

“Brentford’s a good club to be at,” Pierre said. “Since Warbs has taken over he’s done massively well. He lets the players express themselves on the pitch and make decisions.

“Warbs is excellent. He’s welcoming as well. There’s a few times when I’ve been training and he will come over after his first-team session and analyse us. He’s very much into bringing through the youth players.”

Pierre played 19 games for Brentford’s development squad in the Under-21 Professional Development League last season and made his first-team debut in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Southend United.

Meanwhile, Luke Norris's loan spell at Dagenham & Redbridge has been extended until the end of the campaign.

The 20-year-old striker has scored four goals in 12 games so far for the League Two Daggers.
