CHAIRMAN Tony Kleanthous has hinted Barnet’s next signing is likely to be from overseas.

Keanu Marsh-Brown and Anthony Acheampong remain the only additions to the Barnet squad despite fifteen departures from the club’s playing staff last season.

The Bees have taken several players on trial over pre-season and Spanish pair Luisma and Roberto impressed in Saturday’s defeat against Ipswich.

The club have refused to comment on speculation regarding their futures but Kleanthous assured supporters the club are working hard to strengthen the squad.

“We have got a couple of trialists at the moment,” said Kleanthous.

“Edgar is hoping to make some signings but there are so many issues with international players and international clearance.

“The situation is never straightforward but we are working on it.”

Kleanthous is keen for Barnet to continue making improvements on and off the field before the opening league fixture of the Conference Premier season at home to Chester.

“We have got to keep improving so that by the time we get to the first league game we can get pretty slick at what we do,” he added.
