Brentford made amends for the previous week's deflating home draw with Lincoln with their second away win of the season.

Man of the match Marcus Bean sent a glancing header into the net from Glenn Poole's corner after seven minutes and it was enough to secure the points with a
1-0 win at Chesterfield.

It was the midfielder's first competitive goal for the club and a just reward for a tireless display.

Some of the home side fans ended the match calling for the head of their manager Lee Richardson as the Spirerites struggle to get their season going.

The win leaves the Bees undefeated in eight games and in a healthy fourth place, just three points behind leaders Bury.

"We created a lot of chances and probably should have scored a couple more," said delighted boss Andy Scott.

"This win turns things around from when we lost here last season. I think we deserved it.
