Gordon Bartlett is confident Wealdstone can better the draw at Lowestoft when the two sides meet again on Saturday.

Scott McGleish opened the scoring against their bogey side on Tuesday but the Trawlers Boys snatched a share of the spoils in the second half.

Tom Hamblin was forced off with a knee problem and Michael Malcolm is another injury concern but Bartlett is confident of getting all three points.

“We’re going to play a little bit better than we did on Tuesday – the lads all know it wasn’t one of their best performances, but we got a point away from home against a decent side. Without playing well, that’s another point closer to what we’re trying to achieve,” he said.

“Whatever we get thrown at us, we’ve got to deal with it and overcome it. On Saturday, we’re at home. We want to maintain momentum, and I believe we’re good enough to improve on this result against Lowestoft.

“What I want is a positive dressing room and a positive club. We can look at what we’ve done so far and it gives us confidence, not arrogance, but confidence. We have belief in our ability to go out and finish the job. I’m grateful to be in this position but not getting carried away.

"There’s lots of positives if you look at the games remaining. There’s still teams that can trouble us but I think we’ve played all the top six away from home now, and we’ve come out of it unbeaten. We need to replicate that at home.”

Wealdstone follow Saturday’s visit by Lowestoft with a Middlesex Senior Cup tie against AFC Hayes on Tuesday night.
