Barnet will be boosted by Jamie Stephens' contract extension as they host promotion-chasing Oxford United on Saturday.

The goalkeeper, with ten clean sheets in League Two this season, has signed on at the Hive for another two seasons after impressing Martin Allen since signing in August.

And the 22-year-old goalkeeper is eyeing up a big future with the Bees .

He told the club's website: “I’m ecstatic – I’m really happy to have committed my future to the club.

“I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and I’m glad to be here for the long term."

15th-placed Barnet will look to take on rivals Oxford who lie in 2nd in the league, behind Northampton Town.

Allen's men will go into the match in strong form, having only lost twice since January, winning four and drawing two.

Returning: Curtis Weston

And the return of centre-back Bondz N'Gala and midfielder Curtis Weston will lift spirits at the Hive , with striker Michael Gash and goalkeeper Graham Stack set to return to the first-team fold next week.

But the Barnet coach is prepared for a battle on Saturday.

He said: "We're playing one of the best teams, they are definitely getting promoted.

"They've got some fantastic players - that boy Kemar Roofe, he's on fire at the moment. Liam Sercombe, the midfield player is a fantastic player. We're right up against a really good team.

"I think they've sold thousands for tickets, and for us, we've got great backing.

"This is going to be a special day."
