ANTHONY Acheampong wants to make the Hive a fortress this season.

The Bees defender is gearing up for this weekend's clash as as second-placed Barnet prepare to entertain third-placed Nuneaton Town at the Hive on Saturday.

The towering centre back, a summer signing from Welling United, made his first competitive start for the club in the 2-1 victory at Gateshead last weekend.

And the 23-year-old insists Barnet will be looking for all three points this Saturday as they continue to try and make their new home a frightening place to play for visiting sides.

“Obviously its early days, the season, the table, you can’t really read anything into it at the moment,” said Acheampong.

“We’re just going to go into it confident, as we are, and we are just going to try and get three points as we do every game.

“On Saturday it’s going to be a home game and we’re going to try and make this place a fortress so that when teams come here they’ll be scared of us to be honest.”

Barnet are undefeated heading into the clash with Nuneaton and Acheampong revealed that morale is high in the squad as they look to build on their impressive start to the season.

“Everyone’s happy,” he said. “It’s been a great start to the season overall. We’ve won away from home, drawn away from home and won our game at home.

“There’s a good feeling within the camp and all the boys are looking forward to the upcoming fixtures.”
