Barnet first-team coach Gary Waddock has called for a ‘dogged and committed performance’ from a depleted Bees side against Accrington Stanley tomorrow.

Martin Allen is contending with a host of injuries to first-team players ahead of the trip to the Wham Stadium in League Two.

Elliott Johnson and Shaun Batt missed Tuesday’s win against Portsmouth and a number of fitness tests will take place on the morning of the game.

18 year old youth teamers Nana Keyi, Tom Day and Shane Cojocarel have been drafted into the squad to face high-flying Stanley.

Waddock isn’t holding out much hope for a return for any of Barnet’s injured players, telling Bees Player: “Luigi (Cerullo) looks at them on a day-to-day basis.

“All injured players are improving but I don’t think anyone will be ready for selection at the weekend.

“Day-to-day, one of them might just pop up, who knows.”

Waddock went on to praise John Coleman’s work at Stanley and warned his players to expect a stern examination, saying: “They’ve done very well this year.

“John’s an experienced manager and has put some very good teams together.

“It will be a tough test for us, but one we’re looking forward to,” he added.

“They are where they are for a reason, because they’re a very good side and we’ll have to go out there and put in another dogged, committed performance.”
