JULIO Cesar's future remained in the balance last night after QPR confirmed they haven't received a single bid for the Brazil keeper.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a summer switch to Arsenal, while Serie A side Napoli and Spanish outfit Villarreal are also keen.

Rangers want to offload the former Inter Milan star after less than 12 months at Loftus Road as they continue to slash the wage bill following relegation from the Premier League.

Cesar's agent, Josias Cardoso, claims the player is close to leaving W12, but R's chief executive Phil Beard insists there's been no concrete offer on the table.

He said: “There's been nothing firm.

“Julio's Brazil's number one goalkeeper, so I'm sure he'll interest a lot of clubs as the season starts to get closer. We'll look at what deals are on offer and if they're right for us and the player.

“Having Brazil's number one keeper in the Championship would be an interesting dynamic, so we might see something happen.”
