The last time Moses Odubajo came up against Rotherham he scored a wordly at Wembley – but would be happy with one off the shin on Saturday.

Odubajo's spectacular volley was the opening goal in last season's League One play off final, in which Leyton Orient went 2-0 before Rotherham came back to force extra time and ultimately triumphed 4-3 on penalties.

The 21 year old, who moved across the capital this summer for a record fee, opened his account for Brentford with the equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Birmingham , and is now hungry to add to that strike at Rotherham.

He said: “It's a very different situation now, but still mixed emotions from that day. I will take a win first and foremost, but another goal like that would be great. However, I will take any kind of goal at the moment.

“I remember Ben Pringle being a danger with his delivery, and Alex Revell for his hold up play and strength in the air, but apart from them I though they were an average team.”

Despite that being where he goal against Birmingham came from, Odubajo may have less chances to get forward and add to his tally is he is asked to play at right back again.

He played there when he came on as a sub against Birmingham before starting there for Tuesday night's Capital One Cup exit to Fulham .

Odubajo added: “I'm learning as I go. I played there for a whole season when I first broke through at Orient, then went onto the wing and never looked back. I prefer to play higher up the pitch though.

“Injuries have forced it really. Alan McCormack had a niggle and the gaffer knew I was comfortable playing there. It brought my first Championship goal though, so I can't complain.”

Odubajo also revealed he has been playing through the pain barrier with an injury of his own, but insists it is recovering well.

He added: “I was playing with a back injury after taking a knee to the back in training before the opening game. It is getting better though.”
