Andre Gray hopes his goal against Derby can trigger a scoring spree.

The Brentford striker ended a eight-game drought in Saturday's 2-1 win against the Rams as the hosts came from behind to stun Steve McClaren's side.

Bees boss Mark Warburton has been trying to add more firepower to his squad and pulled the plug on a loan deal for Sunderland misfit Danny Graham this week.

But Gray, who has managed just three league goals since his summer switch to Griffin Park, is confident he can start firing.

He said: “My target is to score goals every game. I’ve got the shirt at the moment and it’s down to me to keep it. It’s a big workload but that’s what I’m paid to do.

“Not scoring has been a worry and I think all strikers would feel the same. When things don’t go your way it knocks your confidence a little bit.

“But I’ve come a long way in a short space of time, so I need to try and not put too much pressure on myself.

“It’s going to take a while to replicate what I did at Luton last season in the Championship, but I’ve just got to keep working hard and progressing.”

Warburton revealed he had a pre-match pep talk with Gray following his barren spell in front of goal.

He said: "Andre was beating himself up in the week, so we pulled him in and had a private chat. He was playing Conference football last season and has done exceptionally well."
