MARTIN Jol has promised there's more to come from defender  Fernando Amorebieta .

The summer signing from Athletic Bilabo made his Fulham debut as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 1-1 draw with West Brom.

With Aaron Hughes injured, Philippe Senderos pipped Amorebieta to partner skipper Brede Hangeland in the heart of defence.

But boss Jol hopes to be able to pair the duo together in the future.

He said: “I thought Senderos was good, he came in and did well.

“If I'd have played Fernando, Brede would have played for the first time on right side [of central defence] and I couldn’t take that risk.

“I had to keep it as it was before with Philippe and Hangeland, but we have to start somewhere with Fernando because he is a very good player.

“Hopefully we will get the time and resources to try that and give him his chance.”
