Alexandre Pato could finally make his Chelsea debut when the Blues visit Norwich City on Tuesday night.

The striker agreed a season-long loan move from Corinthians at the end of January but is yet to feature under Guus Hiddink .

Pato had not played for months in his homeland and has needed extensive fitness work at Cobham before being considered for selection.

Hiddink revealed at a press conference on Monday lunchtime that the Brazilian could make the bench at Carrow Road but is nowhere near ready to play a full 90 minutes.

A decision on his final squad will be made later this afternoon, with the Dutchman considering giving first-choice Diego Costa a much-needed rest.

John Terry has been running at the club’s training ground and will also be given a late fitness test before being completely ruled out of the Canaries clash.

January recruits: Alexandre Pato and Matt Miazga are yet to play

Chelsea go into the game hot on the heels of a 2-1 comeback win over Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday.

Hiddink said: "We had a very good win in a difficult stadium, so we were very happy. The team is focused to go on.

"When I started in December we were close to the relegation zone, just one point, and the first objective was to get as soon as possible out of that zone.

"The team did well with draws and victories, so in a relatively short time we have accomplished that in between target.

That, of course, is not the target for Chelsea – but it does encourage us to go on."

Meanwhile, rising star Ruben Loftus-Cheek has today put pen to paper on a new long-term contract and could be given some minutes ahead of the PSG showdown next month.
