ALAN Curbishley admits his chances of becoming Fulham's new manager are slim.

The 52-year-old former Charlton and West Ham boss has been touted as a hot favourite to succeed Roy Hodgson at Craven Cottage.

But Curbs has been told there are other people ahead of him in the queue to take over in SW6, with Mark Hughes and Sven Goran Eriksson leading the race.

He said: "I was told I was on the Fulham shortlist but that there were a couple of people ahead of me, so I knew that was going nowhere.

"I have got to wait and see if the phone rings.
