AFC Wimbledon midfielder Dean Parrett reckons the Dons aren't fully safe from the drop in League One and believes a few more points will see them over the line.

The club are nine points clear of Oldham Athletic in 21st and take on Milton Keynes Dons in a hugely anticipated clash in south London on Tuesday night.

Parrett thinks Wimbledon need to finish as high as they can and then build on it for next season, possibly to mount a promotion challenge.

"You can only take the next game as it comes. I think we'll need some more points - we are looking over our shoulder a little bit," Parrett told Get West London.

"If we had have won on Saturday maybe we would have been looking up instead and saying we could creep into the play-offs.

"But after the results maybe we can't make it now. It's about taking every game and getting as many points and I am sure we'll be all right.

"It's definitely about finishing as high as we can and we're going to keep fighting until the last game of the season, and there are plenty of points to play for. Let's see how many we can get."
