Harry Pell has urged his AFC Wimbledon team-mates not to dwell on their defeat to Mansfield ahead of the busy festive period.

The midfielder has made three substitute appearances since returning from a loan spell at Grimsby, the latest of which came in the loss to the Stags.

But with the Dons facing two game in three days starting with a trip to Portsmouth on Boxing Day, Pell says they must quickly put Saturday's setback behind them.

He told the official website: “We did really well in the two matches previously. “We need to get back to that form and try and pick up as many points as we can before the cup game against Liverpool.

"It’s important that we don’t think too much about the Mansfield game.”

Striker Bayo Akinfenwa is a doubt after limping off in the opening moments at the weekend while Jack Smith and Andy Frampton remain on the sidelines.
