AFC Wimbledon midfielder Dean Parrett has revealed a realistic points' target he and his team-mates should be aiming for to finish the season.

Parrett, who scored from the penalty spot on Tuesday - having won the right to with a game of rock, paper scissors with Lyle Taylor - believes anything can happen if the Dons put a run of results together.

The club are certainly looking up the table rather than what's below them, and if Parrett's prediction becomes a reality, they'll finish the campaign past 60 points.

Indeed, there are 18 points still to play for - win all of them to reach 72 points might sneak them into the play-offs.

But it's a big ask and hoping those teams in those positions have disastrous finishes to the season.

"I feel like we should be looking up a bit, let's start chasing a few teams above us," said Parrett.

"We can play with a bit of freedom now and we are probably mathematically safe. Who knows, let's see how it goes.

"There are six games to go, football is a crazy sport - if we put a good run together then who knows?

"But we just need to take every game as it comes and try to keep a good performance level to take into next season.

"We want to try and get ten points from the next six games if we can.

"As players we just look at the next game and look at who we're playing and try to get three points.

"There's a target from the manager but we're just going to look at the next game and the next game after that."
