Adel Taarabt is in line to make a shock return to the QPR squad for Saturday's crunch clash against Burnley.

The Moroccan has not featured for the R's since the defeat at West Ham back in October and appeared to be on his way out of Loftus Road.

However, Harry Redknapp is ready to welcome the midfielder back into the fold after overcoming his recent fitness problems.

The Hoops boss said: “There’s every chance he’ll be involved. It’s nothing to do with him [potentially] going – we need the points.

Second chance: Harry Redknapp is ready to welcome Taarabt into his squad

“I wouldn’t play him to put him in the shop window. He’d have been involved earlier but he’s not been fit.

“If he doesn’t go he needs to play here. There’s no point him being one of my outfield players if he’s not fit to play.

“If he gets fit I still think he could play a big part for us. No-one doubts his ability.

“If he wants to get fit, train and play, he’s got all the ability in the world. But only Adel can help Adel. He’s got to start producing.”
