Andy Scott intends to use the sight and sounds of Hereford celebrating promotion at Griffin Park to motivate his team to strive for the same.

Graham Turner's side met little resistance as they cruised to a comfortable win which secured them third place in League Two.

And it left Scott with plenty of food for thought when the transfer market opens for business again.

The Brentford boss said: "I left the dressing room door open so they could hear Hereford celebrating.

"I don't like people celebrating on my patch and I don't want it to happen again.

"I will leave them to reflect on it and use it to our advantage next season."

Gary Hooper made the most of some slack Bees defending to give the visitors a 19th-minute lead.

Theo Robinson thought he had made it 2-0 from the spot on 34 minutes, but he was ordered to re-take his penalty and the second effort was saved by Ben Hamer - back in the side following Simon Brown's blunders at Lincoln.

However, within a minute, Robinson had rounded Hamer to make up for his miss with his side's second.

Glenn Poole made the Bulls sweat for their win with two efforts late on, forcing a fine save from a volley on the edge of the box, then hitting the crossbar from a free-kick.

But Hereford broke from that set-piece, and Trent McClenhan set up sub Simon Johnson to clinch victory and promotion for the visitors. BEES: Hamer 6,Pead 5 (Heywood, 78), Bennett 5, Osborne 5, Dickson 5, Smith 5 (Mousinho, 55, 5),
