Fitzgerald's late winner sinks Havant

Substitute Scott Fitzgerald's injury time winner gave Hayes & Yeading United a 2-1 victory over Havant & Waterlooville at Church Road on Saturday and moved them back into the Blue Square Conference South play-off positions.

Substitute Scott Fitzgerald's injury time winner gave Hayes & Yeading United a 2-1 victory over Havant & Waterlooville at Church Road on Saturday and moved them back into the Blue Square Conference South play-off positions.

After three league matches without a win things looked grim for United when subsitute Danny Webb put Havant ahead on 80 minutes.

However, within five minutes United were back on level terms when Will Hendry scored with a superb 25 yard effort and then in the 93rd minute Fitzgerald struck the winner after being set up by Esmond James.

This win moved Garry Haylock's side upto fifth position in the table.
