DEANS Clark and Papali each scored twice as AFC Hayes came from a goal down to reach the Middlesex Senior Cup Final for the first time in their history.

Joe Mitchell's pre-match instructions to keep it tight early on went out of the window as Ashford Town opened the scoring after just 34 seconds but for the rest of the game Hayes gave their Ryman Premier Division hosts the runaround.

Clark soon levelled when he brought down a cross and caressed the ball home and Papali was in the right place to sweep his side into a 15th minute lead.

Papali's dummy led to Clark making it 3-1 at the break and except for 10 minutes at the start of the second half when Ashford showed a bit of fight, the underdogs were extremely comfortable.

Hayes caught their hosts on the break time after time but they settled for a 4-1 win when Ross Ahir countered and Papali volleyed home.

Mitchell's team will play Hendon, winners of the competition a record 15 times, in the final which takes place at 7.30pm on Easter Monday, April 13, at North-wood's Chestnut Avenue.

Fast starting Hayes & Yeading United struck twice in the first 14 minutes to lay the foundation for a fifth successive Conference South victory.

Josh Scott opened the scoring at home to Worcester City, forcing the ball home at the second attempt from a corner and three minutes later Dale Binns fired past Danny McDonnell from the left edge of the area.

United were in some disarray at the start of the second half after Matt Ruby went off following a clash of heads and was replaced by Toby Little, making his first appearance in almost four months.

As they reorganised Gary Walker and Craig Wilding both threatened to pull a goal back and after Will Hendry went close at the other end Worcester did grab a lifeline. Preddie allowed a Marco Adaggio shot to squirm from his grasp, the striker slid in for a second bite and despite two defenders trying to clear the assistant flagged to indicate the ball crossed the line.

The visitors had 20 minutes to equalise but, as if United had been stung into action, Scott went through twice in a 60 seconds but was denied by McDonnell and with seven minutes to play Hendry curled an inch perfect shot into the top corner for a 3-1 win.

Harefield United came out on top of an eight-goal thriller at Brimsdown Rovers and their Spartan Premier Division title destiny was back in their own hands after Chalfont St Peter lost 1-0 at Oxhey Jets.

Danny Buckle's early strike was almost immediately cancelled out by Jamie O'Donoghue but Adam Willis regained the lead which the Hares extended to 3-1 when Jamie Houliston bagged the first of his brace, three minutes into the second half.

Nicky Steward pulled one back for Rovers midway through the second period but a rapid double strike sealed their fate.

Gary Williams and Houliston netted in the 78th and 79th minutes to seal victory despite Tony Nicola's late consolation which made the final score 5-3. Chalfont dropped more points last Thursday with a 3-3 draw at Leverstock Green.

Uxbridge rode their luck in the second half before claiming their third draw from three trips to Didcot Town.

Didcot created several chances in the first half before enjoying a slice of good fortune when Kevin Warner hit the woodwork, but on balance the hosts deserved the 33rd minute lead given them by Jack King's successful penalty.

The Reds levelled before the break when Martin Brown turned Danny Tilbury's cross into his own net but from then on the chances almost all fell to Didcot, who hit the bar twice in the second period.
