Brentford came up against former Bees fringe player Karle Carder in last night's development squad game against Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Carder, then known as Karle Carder Andrews, made five first team appearances for Brentford between 2006 and 2008, before drifting into non-league football with Egham and Hampton.

He played in midfield for a Hampton side which took the lead against Brentford's youngsters through a Ben Harris strike, but the young Bees hit back less than 30 seconds through trialist Christan Lagos.

Lagos was one of a number of trialists the Bees cast their eyes over in the game, with the others including former Gillingham striker Ashley Miller, Chelmsford City midfielder Aaron Greene, and Finland U21 international centre back Daniel O'Shaughnessy, from FC Metz.

The first team open their pre-season programme at Borehamwood tomorrow night.
