Andre Gray, Moses Odubajo and Marcos Tabar made their Brentford debuts as the Bees won their opening pre-season friendly 3-1 at Boreham Wood tonight.

Brentford took the lead midway through the first half when Kevin O'Connor netted from the spot following a foul on Odubajo.

The hosts had a penalty of their own soon after when Alan McCormack handled in the box, and Luke Garrard sent Richard Lee the wrong way to level the scores.

But the Bees were back in front before the break when Gray skipped past a challenge in the area and rounded the keeper, before his shot deflected in off home defender Josh Hill.

Charlie Adams came within inches of extending the lead after the break when he hit the angle of crossbar and lost with a cracking effort from outside the area.

Instead, it was Jake Bidwell who made it 3-1 with a stunning finish for one who seldom troubles the score sheet from Josh Clarke's cross.
