DIVISION ONE NORTH: Hillingdon Borough 2 Witham Town 1

Hillingdon came from behind to win this bottom of the table battle and record their first win of the season

From the start both sides were anxious to impose themselves and were willing to attack at every opportunity.

Witham had the best of the opening 10 minutes but failed to hit the target with their wayward shooting.

After that it was the home side who were creating the bulk of the chances, and Witham 'keeper Rhys Madden denied Boro on several occasions, most notably from William Joseph and Jacque Flowerday.

At the other end, Boro 'keeper Ben Harris, on his return to the club after a two year absence, was also having a fine game.

However, he could do little to deny Witham the opening goal in the 36th minute.

Niki Love latched on to a long clearance and guided the ball over the advancing Harris.

But just two minutes into the second half, Borough were level, when Jey Silva tracked his way into the pernalty area and as he was about the pull the trigger he was fouled.

Jerry Lyons srtepped up to slam the resultant spot kick home.

The goal lifted Borough and they went all out for the three points.

Dave Kendall headed powerfully over the bar, Dan Ewards went even closer when he crashed a free kick into the crossbar and Sam Warrell had a shot tipped round a post by Madden.

From the resulting corner, Kendall smashed home a loose ball from close range.

There was still time for Borough to miss a second penalty when Lyons fired over after a cross had been handlded.

Gareth Dawson was sent off late in the game for throwing a punch, and Borough substitute Glynne missed two glorious chances.
